The seventh VSF Junior Graded Series for the year was a doubles event, not just any doubles event but the "STATE TITLES", again held at the Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre, on the same courts used for the doubles at the Commonwealth Games. With 54 entrants participating it was our biggest and best turn out ever. This event followed on immediately after High Performance Program training session (run from 9-10:45am) which culminated with the dreaded "beep" test again. With Rex Hedrick unable to attend training on this occasion, Luke Sims provided a great effort to make 12.9 to outlast everyone and receive enthusiastic applause from of a large crowd looking on.

Events were conducted for A, B, C, D, E grades and it was pleasing to again see new players particapating in our Junior Tournament Circuit.

Fun was had by all that participated, on this occasion there were many different combinations of partners compared to our last doubles tournament held earlier this year. It looks like the players are really taking to doubles in a big way, so much so they even went as far as to make sure each had the same outfit and teamed well together. Hamish "HAMMA" Riley and Reece Hendy were a big hit - see below.

Despite our delayed start, due to the beep test, the event ran to time all day, due to the co-operation of all players in being ready to take to the court on time and assisting with marking and refing duties.

Just a couple of pictures from the days event, on the left Kooyong v Kooyong, what a match this turned out to be and on the right the combination of Couch/Mitton were too good for the Hamma and Reece.
