Our
third Graded event for the year was held at Keon Park Squash Centre
on Sunday, 9 April, after High Performance Program training and
was another great success! It was wonderful to see so many new faces
and this is truly a sign of the growth of junior squash in Victoria
- the hard work Victorian Squash is doing at the grass roots level
is clearly paying off!!!
The
VSF was most pleased to conduct this 'first time' event at Keon
Park, who were terrific hosts - thanks Lucy & Paul! Let's hope
their junior program can develop further over the coming years and
Keon Park has many entrants in future VSF junior tournaments.
There
was non stop action all day and some extremely close and exciting
matches to watch. Well done to all players for behaving like great
sports and doing your bit with the marking and reffing - also thanks
to the parents who chipped in to help the youngsters with these
duties too.
Well
done and thankyou to the parents who ran a fantastic canteen all
day raising much needed funds for this year's state team and our
general junior fundraising pool.
Thanks
again to everyone for staying for the Presentations - it is really
a thrill for the players to be recognised and congratulated in front
of a big crowd. Nice to see that the trophies (which were massive!)
went down really well with the players - especially those who won
them!
