The
Metro Junior Age Squash Championships were held on Sunday 1st June
at Squash Logic Melton. Despite many regular junior
tournament players not competing (due to competing overseas in Malaysia) competition was as fierce as ever especially in the D Grade section where it is very close for a spot to represent Victoria in Perth later this year.
The
competitiveness, sportsmanship and enthusiasm of the players were
at the usual high levels. Well done to those players, parents, coaches
who made a special effort to travel long distances.
Thanks must go to Dale McCallum and Peter Legg who organised a bus for the juniors at Bendigo to travel as a group and all enjoyed themselves.
Our next Junior Age Tournament takes us to Westerfolds for the State Titles and this will certainly determine the players to represent Victoria in some Age groups. This promises to be one very big weekend to look forward to and I wish all the players the very best of luck.
