This year the State Titles attracted 103 entries making it the best
for some years. Due to the large number of entries this event was
held over two full days. Players from NSW, Tas and SA made the journey
to Westerfolds and from all accounts had a great time and in some
cases they took home a title.
As
always, at Westerfolds, we had a great tournament. Thank you to
Olivia Kent for allowing us the use of her venue. Thanks also to
Karen Morrissey and Lorraine Howell for assisting with the running
of the event. I want to thank all the players for thier co-operation
when asked to mark or ref additional matches.
The
atmosphere was warm and friendly with our 'regular' and growing
number of supporters along with some new faces which was great.
There was a large group of friends and family members supporting
the players along with some of the best coaches in the state.
A
great canteen was on offer. Thank you to all the Westerfolds commitee
members who assisted in some way with the canteen.
For
the first time ever, members of the Victorian Junior Selection and
Ranking Commitee were present to input results from each age group
as they were completed, into the computerised ranking system from
which we were able to announce the State Team for this year. Click
